Client Brief
This charming Victorian railway cottage offered huge potential, and the clients were keen to refresh the courtyard as they prepared for the arrival of their first child. They felt the space had become damp and uninviting, with ageing timber raised beds and artificial turf that trapped moisture.

We were excited to reimagine this space together as a brighter, more welcoming place to spend time with friends, family, and their new baby.

Drawing on the cottage’s history and the clients’ love of bold colour, I redesigned the courtyard to reintroduce its original character, using materials rooted in the railway‑cottage’s history and in keeping with the home’s vibrant interior.

The result is a sunny, sociable and uplifting courtyard with a renewed sense of place and practical touches for a growing family.

This site is currently under construction, due for completion in Autumn 2026. An exciting transformation is underway!
